Bloomin’ Women! March…(into Women’s History Month) with us!

Yay! Spring is almost upon us! (exhale collective sigh of relief…) I hope, unlike mine, your Februaries were germ free and you didn’t almost freeze to death on the streets of the West End, dressed in 18th Century garb!

I started the month with my Sinners, Saints and Saviours tour, which was lovely, but cold. Or so I thought, until I did my Valentines Harlots and Strumpets weekend. Despite multiple thermals, Jack Frost was unforgiving, and the gin at the end was well needed, let’s put it that way!  Ah well. You could say it was very realistic. The 18th Century Harlots endured all temperatures just to survive.

The second half of the month was Hex and the City and Votes for Women. Both really popular tours and well attended (thank you so much!) Even if our suffragettes were disrupted by yet another fun-run en route. But we marched on, defiant!

Below are a couple of pics and a review from the month to recap. If you’ve been on a tour with us, please take the time to review on Google if you can, it really helps, Thank you so much!

Witches, Militants…

March is an important month in the calendar for Herstorical Tours, because not only is it International Women’s Day on the 8th, it’s also Women’s History Month throughout March and Mother’s Day on the 30th.

So we have, to celebrate, another Sinners, Saints and Saviours tour on the 9th for International Women’s Day weekend. What better way to celebrate this important event than with a Sunday morning saunter along the Thames, learning about and meeting some of the area’s instrumental ladies?

On the 21st we have another Hex and the City tour with our partner Treadwells Books and Votes for Women with the Bow Street Police Museum on the 29th for Mother’s Day weekend.  Exciting update: This tour will now include completely FREE entry to the Museum!

…And Mothers…!

Then, on Mother’s Day itself I am delighted to announce a brand new project! I am once again teaming up with the Chelsea Physic Garden to deliver a bespoke Herstorical Tour especially for Women’s History Month AND Mother’s Day: Bloomin’ Women: Herstories of Women in Botany.

Some of you may recall I ran an event called Hex in the Garden back in October for Halloween at the Garden. It went so well, they asked me back! So on 30th March, I will be leading you on a bespoke tour of the Garden, introducing you to some of the most influential women in botanical history; from explorers, to collectors, to healers, and artists. As usual, the event will be theatrical with performances, and even an opportunity to take part yourselves! But I won’t say too much about that. You’ll have to come along to see what I mean…;-)

You can buy tickets to this one off event using the button below. There are limited spaces though, so get in fast.  A perfect treat for your Mum!

That’s it for March, but  you’ll be hearing from me sooner than you think! I’ll be back with a Herstory blog mid-month and in early April there are two VERY exciting projects I’ll be headlining for the Bow Street Police Museum. Stay tuned for more details on those! Follow me on the social media channels below to get the most accurate updates (P.S. I am on X but because of Elon’s madness I don’t use it much now, check out BlueSky instead :-)

Enjoy the early spring, beware the ides of March, and all that…

Love,

Herstorical Tours..x
